What is the difference between RGB and CMYK?

Hey there! Today, we're going to learn about two important color models: RGB and CMYK. These are the main ways we see and use colors on screens and in printing, especially here at Sticker Print.

What is RGB?

RGB stands for Red, Green, and Blue. These are the colors we see on screens like TVs, computers, and phones. When these colors mix together, they create all the bright and vibrant colors you see on your screen. RGB colors are super bright because screens have light behind them to make the colors pop!

What is CMYK?

CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. These are the colors we use for printing. When you print something, like a sticker, these colors mix together on paper to create the final image. CMYK colors aren't as bright as RGB because they don't have light shining through them. Instead, they are made by layering ink on paper.

Why Should You Use CMYK for Printing?

At Sticker Print, we use CMYK to print your designs. If you want your printed stickers to look just like your design on the computer, it's important to create your artwork in CMYK. This way, the colors will be accurate and you won't be surprised by how they look when printed. RGB colors can be very bright on screen, but they might look different when printed.

Here's a Tip!

To get the best black color in your prints, use the CMYK values 40, 40, 40, 100. This will give you the richest, deepest black.

Example of Color Conversion

Take a look at this picture that shows the difference between RGB and CMYK colors. You can see how the colors change when going from screen (RGB) to print (CMYK).

So, next time you're making a design, remember to switch to CMYK before printing. This will help your stickers look just as amazing as you imagined!

Happy designing from all of us at Sticker Print!
