How Do I Make a Transparent Background on My Artwork?

Step-by-Step Guide to Making a Transparent Background in Photoshop:

1. Open Your Artwork in Photoshop:

   • Launch Photoshop and open your artwork file.

2. Unlock the Layer:

   • Look at the Layers panel on the right side. If your layer is locked (it might say "Background"), double-click it and click OK to unlock it.

3. Select the Background:

   • Use the Magic Wand Tool (W) or the Quick Selection Tool (W) to select the background you want to remove. If your background is a solid color, the Magic Wand Tool works great. For more complex backgrounds, try the Quick Selection Tool.

4. Delete the Background:

   • Once the background is selected, press the Delete key. You should see a checkerboard pattern, which means the background is now transparent.

5. Clean Up the Edges:

   • Sometimes, the edges might not be perfect. Use the Eraser Tool (E) to carefully erase any leftover bits of the background.

6. Save Your File:

   • Go to File > Save As, and choose PNG as the format. This format supports transparency and will keep your background see-through.
